i. కేంద్ర ప్రభుత్వం తలపెట్టిన 2021 జనాభా లెక్కల సేకరణకు రూ.8,754.23 కోట్లు కేటాయించాలని ఆర్థికశాఖ సిఫార్సు చేసినట్లు కేంద్ర హోంశాఖ సహాయ మంత్రి నిత్యానందరాయ్ తెలిపారు.

i. The government introduced the Surrogacy (Regulation) Bill, 2019 in the Rajya Sabha, with Health Minister Harsh Vardhan terming it a “game-changer” as it aims at regulating surrogacy in India for the first time.

• India’s Polar Satellite Launch Vehicle, PSLV-C47 will launch Cartosat-3 and 13 commercial nanosatellites into Sun Synchronous orbit from Satish Dhawan Space Centre (SDSC) SHAR, Sriharikota on 25th November.
• Cartosat-3 satellite is a third-generation agile advanced satellite having high-resolution imaging capability.
• This will be the 74th launch vehicle mission from SDSC SHAR, Sriharikota.
• PSLV-C47 is the 21st flight of PSLV in ‘XL’ configuration, that is with 6 solid strap-on motors.
• PSLV-C47 will also carry 13 commercial nanosatellites from the United States of America as part of a commercial arrangement with NewSpace India Limited (NSIL), Department of Space.
Pakistan becomes 1st country to introduce new vaccine to combat typhoid
• Pakistan became the 1st country in the world to introduce a new Typhoid Conjugate Vaccine (TCV) in an effort to combat a drug-resistant strain of the potentially fatal disease in the Sindh province.
• The vaccine, approved by the World Health Organisation (WHO) in 2018, will initially be used during a two-week immunisation campaign starting from November 18 to November 30 in the urban areas of Sindh.
• Typhoid Conjugate Vaccine (TCV) is a one-dose vaccine, that will be injected intramuscularly.
• The vaccine cost is low and it has high efficiency.
• It is expected to provide long-lasting immunity power in adults, children and 9 month infants.

ECI to establish a visiting chair in memory of TN Seshan
• The Election Commission has decided to establish a visiting chair on the inter-disciplinary approach to electoral studies to commemorate former Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) TN Seshan’s “special connect with the young and aspiring India”.
• Former Chief Election Commissioner(CEC) TN Seshan who passed away recently on November 10, 2019.
• It will be established in the Centre for Curriculum Development at India International Institute of Democracy and Election Management (IIIDEM), New Delhi from 2020-2025.
• N Gopalaswami, former CEC will be the mentor of the chair. The chair is expected to be functional by August-September 2020.

53 road crashes, 17 deaths per hour in 2018 :
i. More than 1.5 lakh people lost their lives in road crashes in the country in 2018, registering an increase of 2.4% as compared to the year before, when there were 1.47 lakh fatalities.
ii. The Ministry of Road Transport and Highways released the annual report on road accidents in India, which shows a daily average of 1,280 road crashes and 415 deaths.
iii. India is the most unsafe country in the world for road users across 199 countries, as reported by the Geneva-based World Road Federation’s World Road Statistics 2018. It’s followed by China (63,000 deaths) and the U.S. (37,000 deaths).
iv. Among the States, Tamil Nadu (13.7%) topped the country in terms of the total number of road crashes, followed by Madhya Pradesh (11%) and Uttar Pradesh (9.1%).
v. The highest road fatalities were observed In Uttar Pradesh (22,256), followed by Maharashtra (13,261) and Tamil Nadu (12,216).

• Meghalaya Chief Minister has Inaugurated the 4th International Cherry Blossom Festival 2019 held in Shillong, Meghalaya.
• For the 1st time, India & South Korea jointly celebrated this festival that witnessed the celebration of unique autumn flowering of Himalayan Cherry Blossoms (scientifically known as the Prunus serrulata).
• South Korea Ambassador to India Shin Bong-Kil joined the celebration.

i. భారత ప్రభుత్వం ప్రతిష్ఠాత్మకంగా నిర్వహించబోతున్న ఇంటర్నేషనల్ ఫిలిం ఫెస్టివల్ ఆఫ్ ఇండియా (ఇఫి) స్వర్ణోత్సవాలకు సమయం ఆసన్నమైంది. గోవాలో నేడు(Nov 20) మొదలుకానున్న ఈ చిత్రోత్సవం ఈ నెల 28 వరకూ అంగరంగ వైభవంగా కొనసాగనుంది.
ii. భారత సమాచార, ప్రసార మంత్రిత్వ శాఖ 1952 నుంచి ఈ వేడుకను నిర్వహిస్తోంది. అయితే ఆరంభంలో ఏటా జరిపేవారు కాదు. 1975 నుంచి క్రమం తప్పక నిర్వహిస్తున్నారు.
iii. 2004 నుంచి గోవాను శాశ్వత వేదికగా మార్చారు. ఈ ఏడాదితో ‘ఇఫి’కి 50 వసంతాలు పూర్తవుతున్న సందర్భంగా స్వర్ణోత్సవ సంబరాలను నిర్వహిస్తున్నారు.

i. Theme 2019 : “Life is not a car part”
ii. The United Nations observes “World Day of Remembrance for Road Traffic Victims” on Third Sunday of November every year. The day has become an important tool in global efforts to reduce road casualties.
iii. It offers an opportunity for drawing attention to the scale of emotional and economic devastation caused by road crashes and for giving recognition to the suffering of road crash victims and the work of support and rescue services.
iv. The theme is based on Pillar 3 of the Global Plan for the Decade of Action for Road Safety – Safer vehicles.
v. The World Day of Remembrance for Road Traffic Victims takes place on the third Sunday in November every year as the appropriate acknowledgment of victims of road traffic crashes and their families.
vi. It was started by the British road crash victim charity, RoadPeace, in 1993 and was adopted by the United Nations General Assembly in 2005.

i. టిప్పు సుల్తాన్ (పూర్తి పేరు సుల్తాన్ ఫతే అలి టిప్పు, మైసూరు పులిగా ప్రశిద్ది గాంచినవాడు. ఇతడి జీవిత కాలం నవంబర్ 20, 1750, దేవనహళ్ళి – మే 4, 1799, శ్రీరంగపట్నం. హైదర్ అలీ అతని రెండవ భార్య ఫాతిమ లేక ఫక్రున్నీసాల ప్రథమ సంతానం.
ii. టిప్పుకి మంచి కవిగా పేరు వుండేది, మతసామరస్యం పాటిస్తూ ఇతర మతాలను, మతాచారాలను గౌరవించెడివాడు. ఫ్రెంచ్ వారి కోరికపై మైసూరులో మొట్టమొదటి చర్చి నిర్మించాడు. అతడికి భాషపై మంచి పట్టు ఉండేది.
iii. బ్రిటీష్వాళ్లకు లొంగిపోకుండా ఎదురు నిలిచి పోరాడిన ఏకైక భారతీయరాజు టిప్పు సుల్తాన్. 1782 లో జరిగిన రెండవ మైసూరు యుద్ధంలో తండ్రికి కుడిభుజంగా ఉండి బ్రిటీషువారినీ ఓడించాడు. తండ్రి హైదర్ అలీ అదే సంవత్సరంలో మరణించాడు.
iv. చివరికి రెండో మైసూరు యుద్ధం మంగళూరు ఒప్పందముతో ముగిసి 1799 వరకు టిప్పుసుల్తాన్ మైసూరు సంస్థానమునకు ప్రభువుగా కొనసాగినాడు. ఈ మైసూరు రాజ్యానికి సల్తనత్ ఎ ఖుదాదాద్ అని పేరు.
v. మూడవ మైసూరు యుద్ధం మరియు నాలుగవ మైసూరు యుద్ధంలో బ్రిటీషు వారి చేతిలో ఓడిపోయాడు. చివరికి మే 4, 1799న శ్రీరంగపట్నను రక్షింపబోయి బ్రిటిష్ చేతిలో మరణించాడు.

i. భారత ప్రభుత్వం ప్రతిష్ఠాత్మకంగా నిర్వహించబోతున్న ఇంటర్నేషనల్ ఫిలిం ఫెస్టివల్ ఆఫ్ ఇండియా (ఇఫి) స్వర్ణోత్సవాలకు సమయం ఆసన్నమైంది. గోవాలో నేడు(Nov 20) మొదలుకానున్న ఈ చిత్రోత్సవం ఈ నెల 28 వరకూ అంగరంగ వైభవంగా కొనసాగనుంది.
ii. భారత సమాచార, ప్రసార మంత్రిత్వ శాఖ 1952 నుంచి ఈ వేడుకను నిర్వహిస్తోంది. అయితే ఆరంభంలో ఏటా జరిపేవారు కాదు. 1975 నుంచి క్రమం తప్పక నిర్వహిస్తున్నారు.
iii. 2004 నుంచి గోవాను శాశ్వత వేదికగా మార్చారు. ఈ ఏడాదితో ‘ఇఫి’కి 50 వసంతాలు పూర్తవుతున్న సందర్భంగా స్వర్ణోత్సవ సంబరాలను నిర్వహిస్తున్నారు.
iv. ఈ ఏడాది రష్యాను ఎంపిక చేశారు. భారత్, రష్యాల మధ్య సాంస్కృతిక సంబంధాలను బలోపేతం చేసే దిశగా ఈ వేడుకలో ఆ దేశ చిత్రాలను ప్రత్యేకంగా ప్రదర్శిస్తారు.
v. గోవా ప్రభుత్వం ఈ వేడుకల కోసం పెడుతున్న ఖర్చు రూ.18 కోట్లు (అంచనా).
vi. భారతీయ సినీ పరిశ్రమకు రజనీకాంత్ చేసిన సేవలకుగానూ ఆయన్ను ఐకాన్ ఆఫ్ ది గోల్డెన్ జూబ్లీ ఆఫ్ ఇఫి 2019 పురస్కారంతో సత్కరించనున్నారు. అలాగే ఫ్రెంచ్ నటి ఇసాబెల్లె హుపర్ట్కు జీవన సాఫల్య పురస్కారాన్ని అందిస్తారు.

20 November - Universal Children's Day
i. Universal Children's Day is observed on 20 November annually to promote international togetherness, awareness among children worldwide and improving children's welfare. It was established in 1954.
ii. On this day in 1959, the UN General Assembly adopted the Declaration of the Rights of the Child. And in 1989 on the same day, the UN General Assembly also adopted the Convention on the Rights of the Child.
20 November – Africa Industrialisation Day
i. Africa Industrialisation Day is celebrated on 20 November to raise worldwide about the problems and challenges of industrialisation in Africa.
ii. This day also draws the attention to the governments and other organisations in several African countries to examine ways to stimulate the industrialisation process of Africa.
World Day of Remembrance for Road Traffic Victims - Third Sunday in November (For 2019, November 17th)
i. Theme 2019 : “Life is not a car part”
ii. The United Nations observes “World Day of Remembrance for Road Traffic Victims” on Third Sunday of November every year. The day has become an important tool in global efforts to reduce road casualties.
iii. It offers an opportunity for drawing attention to the scale of emotional and economic devastation caused by road crashes and for giving recognition to the suffering of road crash victims and the work of support and rescue services.
iv. The theme is based on Pillar 3 of the Global Plan for the Decade of Action for Road Safety – Safer vehicles.
v. The World Day of Remembrance for Road Traffic Victims takes place on the third Sunday in November every year as the appropriate acknowledgment of victims of road traffic crashes and their families.
vi. It was started by the British road crash victim charity, RoadPeace, in 1993 and was adopted by the United Nations General Assembly in 2005.
టిప్పు సుల్తాన్ జననం – నవంబర్ 20, 1750
i. టిప్పు సుల్తాన్ (పూర్తి పేరు సుల్తాన్ ఫతే అలి టిప్పు, మైసూరు పులిగా ప్రశిద్ది గాంచినవాడు. ఇతడి జీవిత కాలం నవంబర్ 20, 1750, దేవనహళ్ళి – మే 4, 1799, శ్రీరంగపట్నం. హైదర్ అలీ అతని రెండవ భార్య ఫాతిమ లేక ఫక్రున్నీసాల ప్రథమ సంతానం.
ii. టిప్పుకి మంచి కవిగా పేరు వుండేది, మతసామరస్యం పాటిస్తూ ఇతర మతాలను, మతాచారాలను గౌరవించెడివాడు. ఫ్రెంచ్ వారి కోరికపై మైసూరులో మొట్టమొదటి చర్చి నిర్మించాడు. అతడికి భాషపై మంచి పట్టు ఉండేది.
iii. బ్రిటీష్వాళ్లకు లొంగిపోకుండా ఎదురు నిలిచి పోరాడిన ఏకైక భారతీయరాజు టిప్పు సుల్తాన్. 1782 లో జరిగిన రెండవ మైసూరు యుద్ధంలో తండ్రికి కుడిభుజంగా ఉండి బ్రిటీషువారినీ ఓడించాడు. తండ్రి హైదర్ అలీ అదే సంవత్సరంలో మరణించాడు.
iv. చివరికి రెండో మైసూరు యుద్ధం మంగళూరు ఒప్పందముతో ముగిసి 1799 వరకు టిప్పుసుల్తాన్ మైసూరు సంస్థానమునకు ప్రభువుగా కొనసాగినాడు. ఈ మైసూరు రాజ్యానికి సల్తనత్ ఎ ఖుదాదాద్ అని పేరు.
v. మూడవ మైసూరు యుద్ధం మరియు నాలుగవ మైసూరు యుద్ధంలో బ్రిటీషు వారి చేతిలో ఓడిపోయాడు. చివరికి మే 4, 1799న శ్రీరంగపట్నను రక్షింపబోయి బ్రిటిష్ చేతిలో మరణించాడు.
