Andhra Pradesh government launches ‘Nadu-Nedu’ scheme :

i. ఆంధ్రప్రదేశ్ ప్రభుత్వం ‘నాడు-నేడు’ కార్యక్రమాన్ని ప్రారంభించింది. ఈ కార్యక్రమం ప్రభుత్వ పాఠశాలల్లో 1 నుండి 6 తరగతుల వరకు ఆంగ్ల మాధ్యమాన్ని ప్రవేశపెట్టాలని లక్ష్యంగా పెట్టుకుంది.
ii. ఈ పథకాన్ని మొదటి దశలో 15,715 పాఠశాలల్లో అమలు చేయనున్నారు. ఇది మూడేళ్ల కాలంలో అన్ని పాఠశాలలను రూ .12 వేల కోట్ల బడ్జెట్తో కవర్ చేస్తుంది.
iii. ప్రభుత్వ పాఠశాలల్లో ఆంగ్ల మాధ్యమానికి మారే నిర్ణయం సమాజంలోని అట్టడుగు వర్గాలను ఉద్ధరించడానికి తీసుకోబడింది.

India-U.S. tri-services exercise ‘Tiger Triumph’ :

i. The India-U.S. tri-services amphibious exercise “Tiger Triumph” has begun in Visakhapatnam, Andhra Pradesh.
ii. Tiger Triumph will go on for 9 days off the Visakhapatnam and Kakinada coasts.
iii. The training events will enhance U.S.-India military-to-military relations and hone individual and small-unit skills in humanitarian assistance and disaster response.
iv. This kind of training is expected to build the capacity of both the U.S. and Indian participants as well as improving their ability to operate together.

Moody lowers India’s GDP growth forecast to 5.6 per cent for 2019 :

i. మూడీస్ ఇన్వెస్టర్స్ సర్వీస్ 2019 ఆర్థిక సంవత్సరానికి భారత ఆర్థిక వృద్ధి అంచనాను 5.6 శాతానికి తగ్గించింది.
ii. వృద్ధి అంచనాను తగ్గించడానికి ప్రభుత్వ చర్యలు వినియోగ డిమాండ్‌లో విస్తృతమైన బలహీనతను పరిష్కరించడం లేదని పేర్కొంది.
iii. భారతదేశంలో ఆర్థిక కార్యకలాపాలు 2020 మరియు 2021 నుండి వరుసగా 6.6% మరియు 6.7% వరకు పెరుగుతాయని పేర్కొంది.

16 November : International Day for Tolerance (సహనం కోసం అంతర్జాతీయ దినోత్సవం)

i. International Day for Tolerance is observed on 16 November by UN, committed to strengthening tolerance.
ii. UNESCO created a prize for the promotion of tolerance & non-violence-“UNESCO-Madanjeet Singh Prize for the Promotion of Tolerance & Non-Violence”.
iii. 1995 was declared as the International year for Tolerance.
క్రీడలు
India set to host World Kabaddi cup 2019 in Punjab :

i. The 2019 World Kabaddi Cup will take place from December 1 to 9 and will be organised by the Punjab government in Punjab.
ii. This year’s tournament will be dedicated to the 550th birth anniversary of Sikh guru, Guru Nanak Dev Ji.
iii. Nine teams : India, USA, Australia, England, Sri Lanka, Kenya, New Zealand, Pakistan and Canada are expected to take part in the tournament.
